All

All

I want people to be convinced that the logic of ecosystems is inescapable, whether they like it or not. Neighborhood to city, city to continent, continent to planet, we are affecting each other. The poison in the river is a problem for the air, the fumes in the air are a problem for the body, the reluctance in the body is a problem for the people. Who do we think we’re getting over on?

The logic of the ecosystem is total. Injustice is contagious, and whatever leads to everything. Who do we think we’re getting over on?

Critique is a filter in a poisoned ecosystem. When you’re acting dizzy, when you’ve been drinking that bad water, when the air quality is making your head swim, when that rancid media is making you hateful, critique comes in and fumigates. Even if critique could kill you, it would take much longer than this fascist muck that’s been turning us money-green.

I’m sorry that teacher, that professor, made you feel like nothing, but avoiding critique is like holding your breath until your enemies drop dead. Who do we think is getting over on us?
